Both use our patented protective sheath to automatically neutralize entrapped atmospheres for high-temperature hardening tasks, when an atmosphere furnace is not available.
VakPak65™ Containers
The VakPak65™ system uses 309 stainless steel foil to mimic the results of vacuum heat treating. Used by metal tool makers around the world, these lightweight containers heat more rapidly than the work piece. As a result, the undesirable elements in the entrapped atmosphere react with the container long before the work piece is hot enough to be damaged by them.
The container acts as a protective barrier, not just during heating, but throughout the entire hardening and quenching operation.

VakPak65™ Wraps
For the ultimate in flexibility, VakPak65™ Wraps have you covered. Available in four standard wrap sizes as well as custom orders. The wrap functions in much the same way as the containers, delivering effective performance while leaving the sizing up to you. Wraps are made from 309 stainless steel, offering surprisingly effective vacuum-like results at an economical price.
The VakPak65™ System is ideal for many tool steel heat treating applications – including the hardening of small pieces of molybdenum high-speed steels. Appropriate for everything from heavy industrial parts and machinery to designer knife blades.
